It has been many moons since I have walked a mile in your moccasins – A half a lifetime, as a matter of fact. So, going back in time, my mind takes me to the places that were very familiar in that time and space.

Sure, I had great friends. Not the popular ones, because neither was I. But, I was always comparing myself – to the pretty ones, the confident ones, and the ones who “had it all”.

I had no idea that in my everyday life – in trying so hard to understand the “me” at that time – that I was hosting a “battle” inside my body a battle that was taking its toll on me every moment of every day.

A Bowen Treatment

A Bowen Treatment lasts about 45 – 60 minutes for adults, and 30 minutes for children and babies.  Bowen is performed through light clothing.Barb Ahern - Bowen Practitioner

During a Bowen Session, the Practitioner uses thumbs and fingers, making gentle, rolling moves across muscles and tendons of the body.  There are times when the Practitioner actual leaves the room.  During the short pauses, the body has time to make it’s own adjustments, which help relieve tension and reduce pain.

Many people experience results after just one session.  However, a series of 5 treatments (once per week) is ideally recommended to rebalance the body and achieve long-lasting results.


  • $65 per session (45 – 60 minutes)
  • $55 each for 5 + pre-paid sessions
  • $50 per person for “Tandem treatments” (for two)

Why Bowen?
